MINDFUL MOVEMENT PRESCHOOL CLASSES
Hosted by Petite Care
PetiteCare’s Mindful Movement Preschool curriculum encompasses active and experiential play-based activities that enhance learning at every level.
A developmentally enriching environment is created through the establishment of supportive relationships that foster a secure sense of belonging and well-being. PetiteCare’s littlest friends are viewed as competent and capable, worthy and able, and the creators of their own world as a result of opportunities to explore their current skills and practice and refine new ones. Active physical experiences inspire the development of spatial awareness and body confidence, heightened gross-motor abilities, and social emotional understanding. Nature is appreciated as children discover their surroundings during daily walks and trips to local parks, increasing personal skills related to creative thinking, self-awareness, and equanimity. Every experience is intentionally planned with regard for individual interests and abilities, enhanced by small group sizes and a low teacher to child ratio.

MINI MOVERS (Walking – 2.5 years old)
*10 children + 1 caregiver per child
With the assistance of one instructor, our tiniest friends are introduced to agility skills, tumbling, and balancing skills as they explore the intricacies of physical activity. Gross motor skills will be refined as children move and bend their bodies, acquiring a greater sense of spatial awareness. During this class, children will become engaged with the instructor as they sing songs, dance, play games, and develop confidence in their physical abilities. Safety, exploration, and fun are the main components of this class. Mini Movers requires parent participation - a maximum of one caregiver must accompany each child for the duration of the session.
TUMBLING TOTS (2.5 – 3 years old)
*8 children - 1 group of 8, 1 instructor per group
This physically stimulating program focuses on independent mobility and the emergence of self-confident movement. As children practice entry-level sport skills, they gain fine and gross motor control and consequently strengthen levels of flexibility. A success-oriented approach necessitates the development of resiliency and risk-taking abilities as children actively participate in movement while freely exploring their bodies and following directions. The Tumbling Tots instructor delivers encouragement through the use of positive reinforcement and the creation of programming that focuses on the emerging skills of participants.
GYMSTERS (3 – 4 years old)
Session 1 - 11:30am-12:15pm | Session 2 - 12:30pm-1:15pm
*8 children per session - 1 group of 8, 1 instructor per group
Self-reliance, personal confidence, and the development of true independence is the focus of our Gymsters class. Strength, flexibility, and agility are increased while hand-eye coordination is practiced and refined. The instructor introduces children to a large variety of gymnastics techniques as they work towards increasing their level of skill. Free movement as well as structured activities will allow children to work towards a multitude of different skill levels, advancing at their own comfortable pace. Self-efficacy skills are obtained as children explore their physical abilities and celebrate their accomplishments in a safe and supportive environment that promotes movement, activity, and flexibility.
