Join us for an adventurous, fun filled summer!

At The Wright Spot, we spend our mornings engaged in creative play experiences and our afternoons are reserved for large group activities and special outings. The Wright Spot is open from 8:00am-4:00pm, or 6:00pm for children registered in extended care. Our camp programs are offered in partnership with The Rec Spot. Regular Summer Camp programming is ideal for children ages 4-9, and our Leadership Camp program is suitable for ages 10-13.

Summer Camp primarily takes place at The Wright Spot on Gerrard, and occasionally at a neighbouring school within the community. Children participate in a fun mix of indoor and outdoor activities during camp and enjoy making slime, designing buttons, sculpting clay animals, experimenting with tie-dye, engaging in arts and crafts, and so much more!

Leadership Camp is new this year and allows campers to build confidence while learning about the HIGH FIVE® Principles, responsibility, and teamwork. Leadership Camp offers a hands-on experience where campers develop valuable leadership skills while working alongside and supporting young children.

Summer Camp Activities

Water Play

During camp, children visit splash pads and wading pools at local parks each day for supervised water play. On occasion and when conditions allow, small groups of children may also have the opportunity to use the park’s larger swimming pool for supervised recreational swimming.

*Access to the big pool will be infrequent and is not a guaranteed part of our regular summer camp programming.

Performing Arts Dance Program

A collaboration between Cornerstone and The Wright Spot for children ages 4-6

As part of the performing arts program, children spend half the day dancing and creating at Cornerstone and the other half of their day with The Wright Spot team. While at Cornerstone, children ignite their creative spark by being exposed to a variety of performing arts disciplines. Children sing, dance, and learn how to make up their own compositions.

Offered during the following weeks:

  • July 6-10

  • July 13-17

  • July 20-24

  • July 27-31

  • August 10-14

  • August 17-21

  • August 24-28

The performing arts program is a total of $350/child per full week with a 4:00pm pick up, or $400/child per full week with a 6:00pm pick up.

Leadership Camp

For campers ages 10-13

Throughout this exciting leadership program, campers will build confidence and develop responsibility and teamwork skills while learning the HIGH FIVE® Principles (a framework built around five core values that form the foundation of high-quality children’s programs) through hands-on work with young children.

On day one, campers will learn about safety and working with children before shadowing staff and getting to know the kids through play. By day two, each camper will mentor a small group of younger children for the week, helping with activities, learning their interests, and planning two fun programs—one indoor and one outdoor—while shopping locally for supplies. On days three and four, campers will bring their ideas to life by leading activities, enjoying a group pool day, and participating in leadership courses. The week wraps up on day five with more activities alongside the children in the morning and a celebratory movie theatre trip for campers, creating a rewarding and memorable leadership experience.

  • Summer Camp programming includes outdoor excursions to local parks, pools, and splash pads (weather permitting). Children and camp counsellors travel to and from neighbourhood parks in small groups via short TTC rides (bus or streetcar) or by foot.

  • All children must bring a packed, nut-free lunch from home each day, as well as a water bottle, hat, sunscreen, bathing suit + towel, and appropriate outdoor shoes.

  • Snacks are provided.
